Bandarban – Two people, including a minor boy, were trampled to death and another was injured by wild elephants at Bhagyakul village in Sadar upazila Monday midnight.The deceased were identified as Zubair Hossain, 7 and Dilowara Begum, 60. Injured Saddam Hossain was undergoing treatment at a hospital in Lohargora upazila in Chittagong district.
Abdul Quddus, Sadar upazila chairman, said a herd of 10-12 wild elephants entered the village at dead of night and damaged 12 dwelling houses.
The elephants swooped on the villagers, leaving Zubair and Dilowara dead and Saddam injured.
Earlier, a man was killed in an attack by wild elephants at the same village in December last year. – UNB
