Train communications of the capital with Chittagong and Sylhet remained suspended from Thursday evening as the locomotive of an express train went out of order at Dewpara in Kaliganj upazila. Railway sources said the engine of Noakhali-bound ‘Upakul Express’ from Dhaka broke down around 6:15pm, halting communications on Dhaka-Chittagong and Dhaka-Sylhet routes. The Chittagong-bound train, ‘Ghodhuli Express’, from Dhaka got stranded at Arikhola Railway Station in the upazila following the engine breakdown. On information, a salvage train from Dhaka started for the spot. – UNB
