Speakers here at a workshop here have stressed for ensuring time- befitting quality education for building an enlightened society, ideal and dignified nation to make Independence meaningful for every citizen.
Gangachara upazila parishad under its Upazila Governance Project (UzGP) organised the day-long workshop styled ‘Development Planning for Upgrading the Standard of Education’ at upazila parishad auditorium on Thursday.Acting Deputy Director (Local Government) of Rangpur Shahidul Islam attended and addressed the workshop as the chief guest with Gangachara Upazila Nirbahi Officer Tauhidul Islam in the chair.Vice-chairmen of Gangachara upazila parishad Fosiul Aslam and Nazmin Nahar, union chairman Motiar Rahman, Upazila Secondary Education Officer Shahanaz Begum, Upazila Education Officer Atikur Rahman, Principal Sahedul Islam and Headmaster Abu Reza M Shamsul Kabir addressed as special guests.Upazila level government officials, education officers, heads of different schools, colleges and Madrasas, NGO executives, civil society members, public representatives, members of the union parishad standing committees and journalists took part.The speakers elaborately discussed various steps taken by the government, issues and aspects for ensuring quality education at the primary, secondary, higher secondary and all levels for producing well-educated and enlightened future citizens to lead the nation.They stressed for sincere efforts and joint collaboration of the government and non-governmental organisations and authorities of the educational institutions to ensure quality education and produce worthy citizens for the competitive 21st century.They asked the teachers to work with utmost sincerity to ensure science and ICT-based quality education through providing time-befitting knowledge to the students to make them knowledgeable citizens to accelerate the pace of national development.They put special emphasis on turning the huge population into worthy human resources through properly educating every child to make them competent for serving the nation with full efficiency in building a developed Bangladesh. -BSS, Rangpur
