Expertise on e-commerce, information and communication technologies (ICT) and outsourcing with linkage networks could help young entrepreneurs working at Union Digital Centres (UDCs) in enhancing incomes.
Deputy Commissioner Md Rahat Anwar viewed this at concluding ceremony of a weeklong training course on e-commerce, outsourcing and linkage at Sadar upazila parishad auditorium here on Saturday afternoon as chief guest.
“Outsourcing has become an effective alternative to traditional employments creating ample opportunities for the young entrepreneurs to compete in global job markets and earn remittance in changing their fortune to take the nation ahead,” he added.
Sadar Upazila Youth Development Office organised the training under management of Sadar upazila parishad administration under Upazila Governance Project for male and female UDC entrepreneurs and youths of all unions under Sadar upazila.
The speakers discussed on objectives of the training course conducted on e-commerce, promoting on line outsourcing, online market places, online payment and money withdrawal, repairing of mobile phone sets, television and refrigerators.
The chief guest said the country’s growing digitised ICT sector has been boosting incomes through outsourcing and expanding e-business, e-trade and e-commerce at national and international levels.
“It is a reality now that Bangladesh is moving faster on its way to become a middle income nation by 2021 and, subsequently, a developed country by 2041 next because of the government’s digitisation
programme that progresses successfully,” he said.
He urged the youths and UDC entrepreneurs for properly utilising the knowledge they acquired from the training course and applying those along with their ICT expertise in boosting e-commerce, e-business and e-trade in attaining economic self-reliance.
