Fakhrul greets Hasina, Quader

Dhaka: BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir greeted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader for being elected president and general secretary of Awami League respectively. UNB News Agency Reported.
“We’ve found important news for the nation that Sheikh Hasina was reelected Awami League President while Obaidul Quader elected its general secretary at its council. I congratulate them,” he said.
Speaking at a discussion, he further said, “We hope they’ll work for the restoration of democracy and people’s rights as per the nation’s hopes and aspirations.”
Jatiyatabadi Sangskritik Jote organised the programme at Kochi-Kacha Building auditorium in the city’s Segunbagicha area, marking late film director Chashi Nazrul Islam’s 75th birth anniversary.
Sheikh Hasina was reelected president of the ruling Awami League unopposed for the eighth consecutive time, while Obaidul Quader its general secretary for the first time in the party’s 20th council.
The two-day council of the ruling party that began on Saturday held at historic Suhrawardy Udyan.
