Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Friday announced Tk 200,000 for each of the families who lost their loved ones to the devastating fire at a factory at Ashulia in Savar and to the collapse of a flyover at Bahaddarhat in Chittagong.
The injured will receive Tk 50,000 each as well.
Prime Minister’s Special Assistant (Media) Mahbubul Hoque Shakil in the evening told bdnews24.com, “The assistance will be provided from the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund.”
A deadly blaze that broke out in the evening of Nov 24 burned at least 110 alive at Tazreen Fashions at Ashulia, 53 of those killed were buried unclaimed.
Another 13 people were crushed under three concrete girders after those fell off the under-construction flyover at Chittagong.
Most of those perished were said to be bread-winners in their family.
