Dhaka – South East University and International University Of Business Agriculture & Technology (IUBAT) reached the semifinal of the United Group Faraaz Inter-University Gold Cup Football Tournament eliminating their rivals in the quarterfinals at Kamalpur Stadium here on Thursday.
In the day’s quarterfinal, South East University eliminated North South University by 4-3 goals in tie-breaker as the match was locked in 1-1 goals in the stipulated period.
Rithem Mahbub put North South University ahead in the 33rd minute (1-0) while Golam Sarwar restored the parity for South East University in the 66th minute (1-1) in the regulation period.
In the day’s other quarterfinal, IUBAT beat BRAC University by 2-0 goals at the same venue.Mehedy Hasan and Abdir Issac Mohammad Hasan scored for the winners, one in each half.UNB
