LGRD Minister Engineer Khandker Mosharraf Hossain on Tuesday said Faridpur will be declared as a new division within a month or two. He said the headquarters of the proposed division will be in Faridpur district and steps have been taken to increase its area to double.
The minister made the disclosure while addressing the installation ceremony of the newly formed Faridpur Journalists Foundation (FJF) at the Jatiya Press Club.
With FJF president Isharaf Hossain Isa in the chair, the function was addressed, among others, by former senior secretary and Rupali Bank chairman Monjur Hossain, former FBCCI president Mir Nasir Hossain, DMP Commissioner M Asaduzzaman Mia and industrialist Abdus Sobhan.
The LGRD minister said a world class public university will be established in Faridpur and an international stadium will be built there.
