Dhaka – Ferry services on Paturia-Daulatdia route in the Padma River resumed after 9 hours of disruption caused by dense fog in Manikganj on Saturday.”The ferry services were disrupted from 10pm on Friday due to poor visibility caused by thick fog,” said Nasir Mohammad Chowdhury, manager of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) at Aricha.One ferry remained stranded in the mid-river while 17 others at two ghats on both sides, causing immense sufferings to the passengers amid cold weather.Over thousands of vehicles, including buses and trucks, were waiting in queues on both sides of the river to cross it, Nasir added.Later, the ferry services resumed around 7am as the fog disappeared.UNB news agency
