Dhaka – Prominent filmmaker Shahidul Islam Khokon died at a hospital in the city on Monday morning.
He was at 59.
He breathed his last at Uttara Adhunik Hospital at 8:15am, said Mushfiqur Rahman Guljar, gereal secretary of Chalachitra Porichalak Samity.
Khokon had long been suffering from ‘motor neuron disease’.
He was admitted to the hospital as his condition deteriorated on December 31, 2015.
Films directed by Khokon include Loraku, Birpurush, Bojromusthi, Biplob, Akorma, Shotorka Shoitan, Bishdant, Top Rongbaj, Utthan Poton, Lal Sabuj and Palabi Kothai.
