The first agricultural debate competition was started at Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) in Mymensingh participating 12 teams from 10 different public & private agricultural subject base universities on Friday.
BAU organized the debate competition on agricultural base topics such as agriculture, farmer, agricultural products etc with the aid of BAU debating society (BAUDS).BAU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Ali Akbar inaugurated the debate competition as a chief guest by releasing balloons while Bangladesh Fisheries Research Institute (BFRI) Director General Dr Yahia Mahmud attended as a special guest.
Student’s affairs adviser Prof Dr S D Chowdhury presided over the program.
A colourful rally titled ‘Jukhtir Aloka Krishir Bikas’ was also held on the occasion of debate competition on the campus by parading main streets of the campus which ended at Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin auditorium.
The participated universities are Bangladesh Agricultural University, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University, Sher-E- Bangla Agricultural University, Sylhet Agricultural University, Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University, Noakhali Science and Technology University, Rajshahi University, Khulna University, Exim Bank Agricultural University & International University of Business Agriculture and Technology.
Debate competition is a thing that needs efficient knowledge and logic to do.
Debating can enrich one’s leadership by increasing knowledge and making self-
