The first death anniversary of noted writer, playwright, director and filmmaker Humayun Ahmed is being observed today.In this connection a Qurankhwani was held after Juma prayers at Nuhas Palli of Pirujali Village in Gazipur where he was laid to rest, family sources said.
An Iftar party will be arranged for the orphans, friends and local people at the Nuhas Palli, seeking eternal blessings for the salvation of his departed soul.
Different cultural organisations have chalked out elaborate programmes across the country to observe the day in a befitting manner.
