Five killed in Narayanganj road crashes

Dhaka – Five people were killed and 30 others injured in road accidents in Sonargaon and Fatullah of the city on Friday.
Three people were killed and 10 others injured in a head-on collision between a truck and a battery-run easy-bike at Masdair under Fatullah Police Station of the city at night.The deceased could not be identified immediately.
Officer-in-charge of Fatullah Police Station Abdul Malek said the accident took place around 12am when the truck collided with the auto-rickshaw around 12am, leaving three auto-rickshaw passengers dead on the spot and its 10 others injured. The injured were taken to Sadar Hospital.
Meanwhile, two people were killed and 20 others injured as a bus carrying a bridal party plunged into a roadside ditch at Nayapur in Sonargaon upazila, about 20 kilometres east of Dhaka on Friday, unb news agency reported.
The deceased could not be identified immediately.
Police and witnesses said the Rupganj-bound bus from Gazaria of Munshiganj carrying a group of 25-30 bridal party fell into the ditch after it collided with a pickup van on Madanpur-Joydebpur road in the area around 10pm, leaving two passengers dead on the spot and 20 others injured.
The injured were taken to different hospitals, including Dhaka Medical College Hospital in the capital.
