Jamalpur -The train service on Jamalpur-Dewanganj route was suspended on Friday night due to flooding and heavy rainfall in the district.
Train communication has remained snapped since 8pm, said Jamalpur Railway Station master Jahurul Islam.
Besides, the rail track on the Jamalpur-Bangabandhu Bridge East Rail Station route is apprehended to collapse any moment under the pressure of floodwater.
A three-member team led by Additional Chief Engineer (Truck), which visited the spot on Saturday morning, will decide whether to suspend train operation on the route or not.
Meanwhile, a train from Chittagong lies stuck at Jamalpur railway station awaiting the team’s decision.
