Food Minister Quamrul Islam on Saturday urged all to free the history of Bangladesh Liberation War and politics from adulteration.
“Like food adulteration, many are trying to make efforts through falsehood to adulterate the history of the 1971 Liberation. I hope all will stay away from the adulterated politics and distorted history of the Liberation War,” he said.The minister came up with the appeal while addressing a seminar on food adulteration and government’s responsibility organised by Jatiya Nakal-o-Bhejal Protirodh Foundation in the capital’s Biam auditorium.
Referring to the newly-enacted Food Safety Act-2013, Quamrul said it has been passed to prevent food adulteration in the interest of public health.
“The application of the law will take time,” he added.
Every citizen has to be conscious to check food adulteration, said the minister, adding that those unscrupulous businessmen engaged in such immoral acts have to keep in mind about the adverse effects of food adulteration as they also have children. – UNB
