Fueling sectarian conflicts dangerous plot for Muslim World: Iran

By Iran ReviewIran Foreign Ministry Spokesman Abbas Araqchi has warned against a “very dangerous” plot to sow sectarian discord across the Muslim world, saying the Israeli regime is liable for such plots.“We hold the Zionist regime [of Israel] accountable for the heavy plot to cause sectarian conflict among Islamic sects,” Araqchi said.
“Fueling the flames of sectarian conflicts and creating rift among Shia and Sunni Muslims and between different tribes and groups, constitutes a very dangerous plot which targets the entire Muslim world. Certain groups have unfortunately been deceived and dragged into this plot,” he added.
The Iranian spokesperson emphasized that only the Israeli regime would benefit from polarization of Muslim states and the ongoing killing and blasts in these countries.
He called on leaders of Muslim countries, particularly Iraq, to remain vigilant and prevent the spread of division among Islamic sects.
“Maintenance of unity, national solidarity, and territorial integrity is Iraq’s most important need which will be met only through cooperation among all groups,” Araqchi stated.
He noted that foreign powers are not interested in Iraq’s solidarity, and are supplying aid to terrorist groups. – Eurasia Review
