Gano Forum on Monday night rejected the election schedule announced by the Election Commission, Bikalpadhaka sources said they will be with the BNP in movement.UNB reported, “It’s unacceptable as well as a mockery with the nation to announce the polls schedule without restoring the election-time non-party government,” Gano Forum president Dr Kamal Hossain and general secretary Mostafa Mohsin Mantu said in a joint statement.
They also said the election schedule pushed the nation towards confrontation, division and anarchy. “The polls schedule is inconsistent with the expectations of the people.”
Earlier in the evening, Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad in his televised address to the nation announced that the 10th parliamentary elections will held on January 5 next.
