DHAKA: Five members of a family were seriously burned following a gas explosion in city’s Rampura area early Thursday.Of the injured, one was identified as Geeta Rani Banik.
Rampura Police Station OC Delwar Hossain said, “The explosion occurred when Geeta had been lighted a match to turn on the gas burner at the kitchen of their east Rampura flat at about 6:20am, leaving five injured.”
The injured were rushed to the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, he added.
The condition of Geeta Rani and her son is critical, hospital sources said.
