Gazipu- A fire broke out at a footwear factory at Joydebpur in the city early Sunday. Hasibur Rahman, officer of Joydebpur Fire Service Station, said the fire originated from an electric short circuit at ‘Satota Shoe Factory’ in Mariali area around 12:15am and soon engulfed the entire building.On information, three firefighting units rushed in and doused the blaze after one and a half hours of frantic efforts.The extent of losses caused by the fire would be around Tk10 lakh, the officer added.(UNB)
