Dhaka, March 02 – Dr Kamal led Ganaforum has expelled four of its central leaders including two organizing secretaries for violation of organizational discipline and their alleged involvement in anti-organizational activities.
The four leaders who were expelled are—organizing secretaries Advocate Helal Uddin and Latiful Bari Hamim, publicity and publication affairs secretary Khan Siddiqur Rahman and expatriate welfare secretary Abdul Hasib Chowdhury.“They have been expelled for continuous violation of organizational discipline and their involvement in anti-organizational activities,” said a press release issued by joint secretary Mostaque Ahmed.
The leaders were served show-cause notices over their alleged violation of organizational discipline but they did not give reply to the notices. Thus, they were expelled from the primary membership and relieved of all responsibilities for the greater interest of the organization, the release added.
When contacted Mostaque Ahmed said the decision was taken at a meeting of party’s senior leaders with party chairman Dr Kamal Hossain in the chair.
He said more disciplinary action against some more leaders is likely to be taken within a couple of days.
Meanwhile, Latiful Bari Hamim questioned the jurisdiction of the party joint secretary to expel them.
He said they were claiming to convene a meeting of the party central committee that formed some 10 months ago but the meeting is yet to be held.
Hamim further said a secretarial level meeting on February 28 has relieved party secretary-general Reza Kibria and joint secretary Mostaq Ahmed for their failure to hold the meeting.
He also termed the press allegation against them as false and fabricated. – Staff Reporter
