One of my relatives has been working for an NGO in Dhaka for a long time. He usually comes to Rajshahi every weekend. He did not come to Rajshahi for about a month due to nationwide blockade by the opposition.He came to Rajshahi on Decmeber 24 and wanted to get back Dhaka on Friday December 27 though he could go on Saturday because his office will start on Sunday after weekend. He went to Rajshahi Railway station to board the Dhumketu Train, which was supposed to start for Dhaka at 11:20 P.M. But he had to come back because the train did not go to Dhaka in pursuance of an official order from the Railway Authority as well as the incumbent government.
He tired to phone several bus counters for booking ticket for the next day or the day after but no one responded with confirm his booking. His coming back to Dhaka is thus became uncertain.
He told me that hundreds of people like him other family members needed to get back Dhaka urgently but failed.
