Govt distributes CI sheet, cash among river eroded, poor families

The government has distributed 100 bundle CI sheet and Taka three lakh among the 100 river eroded and poor families of Sadar upazila of the district on Friday.The 100 corrugated iron (CI) sheets and Taka 3 lakh were allocated by the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief for river eroded and distressed families to help in building their homes, official said.
Whip of the Bangladesh Parliament and local lawmaker Mahabub Ara Begum Gini formally handed over the CI sheet and the cash money to the beneficiaries at a function held at the upazila parishad premises as the chief guest. Deputy Commissioner M. Ehsan-e-Elahi was present as the special guest.Each family received a bundle of CI sheet and cash Tk 3,000.Speaking on the occasion, whip Mahabub Ara Begum Gini said the government, led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, was working relentlessly to turn Bangladesh into poverty and hunger free country by 2021.Acting upazila chairman Rashida Begum, project implementation officer Mofakkharul Islam, social services officer Golam Faruque, officer in charge of Sadar thana Ahmed Raziur Rahman, and upazila level officials and the journalists were present on the occasion. -BSS, Gaibandha
