Govt expanding female education to empower women

The present government has put maximum importance on enhancing female
education to attain sustainable national development through
empowering the womenfolk at all levels, speakers said here yesterday.
They were addressing sub- stipend distribution ceremony organized for
the degree level female students by Upazila Secondary Education Office
at Chatra Degree College Hall Room under Pirganj upazila in the
district.
Member of the Parliament from Rangpur-6 constituency and valiant
freedom fighter Abul Kalam Azad addressed the ceremony as the chief
guest with Project Officer of the Degree Level Sub-stipend Project of
the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education Munabberul Rashid in
the chair.
Upazila Academic Supervisor Abdul Kaiyum Sharif, Principal of the
college Mahbubar Rahman, Awami League leader Rezwanul Haque, Chatra
union chairman Mizanur Rahman, Upazila Secondary Education Officer
Mahtab Uddin, addressed.
The chief guest distributed a total of Taka 38,07,300 with Taka 4,900
among each of the 777 beneficiary degree level female students of
different educational institutions of Pirganj upazila in the ceremony.
The speakers said the present government led by Prime Minister Sheikh
Hasina has been enhancing female education through taking various
effective steps including distribution of sub stipends at various
level female students.
In his speech, the chief guest asked the female students in building
themselves as worthy citizens with true patriotism through devoting to
studies and knowing real history of the nation, their heroic ancestors
and the Great War of Liberation.
He specially thanked Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for taking various
effective steps in enhancing female education to establish equal women
rights through ensuring their participations in all sorts of
socio-economic and political activities in the national arena. – –
