Rajshahi City to remove sacrificial animal waste in 12 hours

Rajshahi, July 26: Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) has taken up steps for safe removal of sacrificial animal waste within 12 hours of slaughtering on the holy Eid-ul –Azha.
As part of the efforts, the RCC will fix the selective spots for slaughtering sacrificial animals on the forthcoming day of Eid-Ul-Azha in the city.
City Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton revealed this while addressing a meeting with ward councilors, secretaries and others concerned on “Slaughtering Sacrificial Animals and Waste Removal” held at City Bhaban conference hall here today.
With Panel Mayor Shariful Islam in the chair, the meeting was addressed, among others, by Ward Councilors Abdul Momin, Towhidul Haque and Shahidul Islam and Chief Conservancy Officer Sheikh Mamun.
Mayor Liton said the city corporation is working for safe removal of sacrificial animal waste within 12 hours so that the city residents can see a neat and clean environment within shortest possible time.
He urged the city dwellers to slaughter the animals only in selected places for keeping the metropolis along with its air and water free from pollution and other contamination.
The mayor laid the importance of planned and hygienic slaughtering of animals for protecting the public health from lethal COVID-19 virus .
