A young man Jishan 26 was killed in a reported ‘gunfight’ with Rab in the Putia area of Daudkandi Upazila under Comilla district on Thursday night.He is the son of late Abu Bakr of Chandraganj village in Lakkhipur Sadar Upazila.
Police claimed that Jishan faced 29 cases in Laxmipur Upazila.
According to available information Jishan was speeding in a motor cycle near the Jinglatali village under Daudkandi Unazila at about 02am at night when a Rab team signalled to stop him.As Jishan drove away ignoring the signal the Rab team passed the message to another patrol team at Putia of his movement. When the Rab team signalled to stop him the young man fired two rounds.Rab men shot back and in the shooting Jishan was killed.
Jishan’s body was later taken to the Comilla Sadar Hospital. Police said, a foreign-made piston one bullet was recovered from him. His motor cycle has also been recovered, police said.
