Gunmen spray bullets into club, two Juba League men shot

Dhaka – A waiside office of the ruling Awami League’s youth front at Ideal Zone of AGB Colony came under the attack around 11pm on Friday, Motijheel Police Station Inspector Golam Rabbani said.Injured Ahsanul Haque Emon, 32, and Rizvi Hasan Babu, 34, were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Sub-Inspector Sentu Chandra Das at the DMCH Police Camp said Emon had bullet wounds on his right hand and left side of his chest, and sharp weapon wounds on his head.
“We are looking for the assailants,” he added.
Babu received bullet injury on the right side of his face. He quoted doctors as saying that Babu’s condition was critical.
Quoting witnesses, Das said, “They were in a club when some miscreants began firing indiscriminately.”
Juba League’s Dhaka South unit leader Maruf Reza Sagar said the injured were members of the organisation’s Ward-10 unit.
He alleged ‘Hirok’, ‘Milon’ and ‘Tushar’ carried out the attack. – Agencies
