Hasina to govern till 2019 with iron hand: Nasim

Dhaka: Mentioning that the lone goal of the present government is to take the country ahead, Health Minister Mohammad Nasim on Wednesday said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will govern the country with an iron hand until the next general election.
“Many people give example of South Korea, Singapore and Malaysia. Those countries that became independent some years before Bangladesh are now prosperous ones. Why have they turned prosperous? Because they had leaders or statesmen,” he said.
Mohammad Nasim, also the presidium member of ruling Awami League, said this while addressing a discussion on August 17 serial bomb attacks. UNB News Agency Reported.The discussion was organised by Awami League’s Dhaka City (South) unit at Mahanagar Natyamancha in the city.
The minster said, “We’re unfortunate we have lost our Father of the Nation within three and half years of the country’s independence.”
He observed that the three countries mentioned moved forward as the statesmen of the countries governed their own countries with an iron hands “Awami League doesn’t believe in the democracy that snatches the basic rights of people.”
He went on saying, “We term black as black and killers as killers. There’ll be no compromise and unity with them (BNP). Sheikh Hasina will govern the country with an iron hand till 2019.”
The leader mentioned that the next polls will be held under Sheikh Hasina in 2019 and there will be no alternative to victory for Awami League in that election.
Awami League joint general secretaries Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif and Dr Dipu Moni and organising secretary Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, among others, spoke at the discussion, held with Dhaka City (South) unit president Abul Hasnat in the chair.
