The High Court has fixed Monday for order on the writ petitions filed Sunday morning seeking the schedule of the bifurcated Dhaka City Corporation (DCC).A High Court division bench comprising Justice Mirza Hussain Haider and Justice Muhammad Khurshid Alam Sarkar fixed the date today (Sunday) after hearing the writ petitions filed by Supreme Court lawers Barrister Mostafa Zaman and Advocate Mohamamd Alamgir Hossain.
Earlier, on July 11, the writ petitioners sent a legal notice by registered post to the Local Government Division secretary, Election Commission secretary and Chief Election Commissioner seeking the schedule of split-DCC polls within 48 hours. They filed the writ petitions as no action was taken during the stipulated time. – UNB
