Hefajat ameer Shafi shifted to Dhaka hospital

Chittagong – Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi, the ameer of Hefajat-e Islam, was admitted to a hospital in the capital on Tuesday. UNB news agency reported
Maulana Munir Ahmed, a spokesman of the Hefajat Ameer, said Allama Shafi was airlifted to Azgar Ali Hospital at Gendaria in the capital by a helicopter around 2:45 pm.
He had been undergoing treatment at Chittagong CSCR Hospital for heart ailment and breathing problem since Monday morning and later shifted to its intensive care unit (ICU), said Maulana Muhammad Yusuf, elder son of Shafi.
He was taken to Dhaka as per the advice of the physicians as his condition was not improving, said Yusuf.
Besides, Shafi is being fed through pipe for the last 20 days, he said.
