Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh (HIB) would set up “Manch” to defend the country and faith if the government fails to resolve the ongoing
political impasse.
The decision was taken at an emergency meeting of HIB central committee with leaders of Dhaka and Chittagong city committees at
Hathazari Darul Ulum Madrasa on Wednesday said a press release.
The meeting held with HIB ameer Allama Ahmad Shafi in the chair called upon the government to establish peace and stability immediately in
the country by holding an inclusive neutral election.
“If the government fails to resolve the political crisis, the ulema of the country will not sit idle. They would force the government to stop
running the country in fascist manner through repression,” said the release.
The meeting has decided to observe a nation-wide doa dibosh (day of prayer) on Friday for solution of the political stalemate and to
protect the independence and sovereignty of the country.
The meeting condemned and protested the government denial of permission to hold HIB gatherings at Shapla Square on December 24 and
at Jamiatul Falah Ground in Chittagong on December 12-13. – Staff Reporter
