Miscreants set afire a truck leaving its helper dead and driver injured inside at Bamrail in Wazirpur upazila early Sunday, as the BNP-lead 20-party alliance’s countywide non-stop blockade entered 13th day.The deceased was identified as Sohag,17.The injured driver, Ripon, was admitted to Faridpur Sadar Hospital.Barisal Superintendent of Police AKM Ehsanul Haque said miscreants set ablaze the truck bound for Barisal while Sohag and Ripon were inside in the area in the dead of the night, leaving Sohag dead on the spot and Ripon injured.On information, police recovered the charred body of Sohag on Sunday morning.The body was sent to Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia called the countrywide indefinite blockade from January 6 (Tuesday) as the government did not allow her party and its allies to hold protest rallies in the capital. –UNB, Barisal
