Ho Chi Minh eulogised – Six eminent persons honoured

The contributions of Ho Chi Minh, the great Vietnamese leader who had not only successfully led the war of liberation of his country but also inspired freedom struggle in Bangladesh as elsewhere in the globe were eulogised at a seminar in Dhaka City on Sunday, September 24.Vietnamese ambassador to Bangladesh HE Tran Van Khoa was the chief guest at the seminar from where six eminent persons were given the Ho Chi Minh Award 2017 for their contributions to different fields in Bangladesh by the Nawab Salimullah Academy.
Speakers at the seminar said the people of Bangladesh held a treasure of love and respect for the people of Vietnam and their great leader Ho Chi Minh because of their heroic war of liberation by defeating two superpowers by the sheer spirit of patriotism and courage.
Ambassador Tans Van Khoa noted friendship the people of Bangladesh nurtured in their minds for the people of Vietnam and said this understanding could be further developed through seminar and discussion meetings like the one organised by the Nawab Salimullah Academy.
He said that Vietnam’s great leader Ho Chi Minh was acclaimed by freedom-loving people across the globe and recognised by the Unesco. Tran Van Khoa said the peoples of the two countries supported each other’s liberation struggles and Vietnam and Bangladesh would celebrate the 45th years of diplomatic relations existing between the two nations next year.
Presided over by Muhammad Abdul Jabbar, president of Nawab Salimullah Academy, the seminar was also addressed by Principal Selim Bhuiyan, president, Shikkhak-Karmachari Oikya Parishad, academic Dr Mostafizur Rahman, newspaper editor Mostafa Kamal Majumder, Ms Helen Zerin Khan and Prof. Abdus Selim among others.
The Vietnamese envoy handed over crests to recipients of the Ho Chi Minh Award 2017 to – Dr Mostafazur Rahman for academic service, Mostafa Kamal Majumder for professional journalism, Md. Mizanur Rahman for technology & social service, Eng Md Nazrul Islam Sheikh for steel structures service, Md Karumul Huq Shameem for construction & development and Dr Muhammad Abdul Mozid for administration and management. – Staff Reporter
