Hockey Federation to introduce Pioneer Hockey League

Dhaka – Bangladesh Hockey Federation has decided to introduce Pioneer Division Hockey League from the next year to create an opportunity for a large number of players who participated in the National School Hockey Tournament over the last few years.The federation has a plan to start the maiden Pioneer Hockey League with the participation of some 30 club teams, said a press release on
Tuesday,UNB News Agency Reported.Interested teams have been asked to send their entry to the general secretary of Bangladesh Hockey Federation by December 30 this year after fulfilling the criteria.Metropolis Premier Division club teams like Abahani Ltd, Mohammedan SC, Usha KC, Mariner Youngs Club, Sonali Bank SRC, Sadharan Bima KS, and Ajax SC will be given priority to form the team for the Pioneer League.Besides, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club, Muktijoddha Sangsad KC and Brothers Union Club will be invited to form the Pioneer League team. Interested teams, outside from Dhaka, will also be entitled to participate in the league and the office team will be given priority.
