Holy Shab-e-Barat observed befittingly in districs

The holy Shab-e-Barat, largely known as night of fortune, was observed
in a befitting manner with due religious fervour, solemnity, gaiety,
rituals and festivity in the northern districts and elsewhere in the
country last night.Tens of hundreds of the Muslims offered ‘nafal’ prayers and took part
in special munajats at mosques, homes and reciting from the holy Quran
throughout the night to observe one of the most meaningful nights of
forgiveness, fortune, hopes and aspirations.
They sought divine blessings for long life, peace, progress, good
health and happiness for them, their families, relatives and friends
through offering special prayers with hopes of forgiveness and eternal
peace for their departed parents, generations and nearer ones.
Many mosques were specially decorated and colourfully illuminated in
Rangpur divisional city, district and upazila towns and important
places on the occasion. Milad mahfils and ‘zikrs’ were organised,
‘tobaraks’ distributed both in urban and rural areas everywhere.
The noted Olamaye-Kerams and Imams delivered speeches in the special
discussions arranged at the mosques since after the Asr prayers
yesterday till 10 to 11 pm after the Esha prayers narrating spiritual
significance of the most sacred night.
A large number of the Muslims of all ages stayed at the mosques for
the whole night, offered special prayers and ‘ziarats’ at the
graveyards of their forefathers and departed relatives, friends and
nearer ones seeking forgiveness and eternal peace for all.
Special prayers were also offered at all mosques seeking divine
blessings for the overall welfare, successes and good luck of the
country, its people, the humanity and the Muslim Ummah as a whole
across the world.
Special security measures were taken through deploying adequate number
of members of the law enforcement agencies including police in the
divisional city, all district and upazila towns in the region to
ensure peaceful observance of the night.
The holy Shab-e-Barat was observed in the Gaibandha district on Monday
night as elsewhere in the country with due religious fervour and
festivity.
The Muslims consider Shab-e-Barat as one of the three most sacred
nights and believe that on this night Almighty Allah decides the fate
of all human beings fixing their ‘Rizq’ (livelihood) for the next
year.
Thousands of Muslim devotees passed the night offering special nafal
prayers at mosques and homes, reciting from the holy Quran, holding
milad mahfil, jikr, and other religious rituals in observance the
meaningful night of forgiveness and fortune.
They also sought divine blessings for long life, peace, progress and
happiness for themselves, family members, relatives and well-wishers,
eternal peace for their departed parents and generations as well as
the nation and the Muslim Ummah.
Besides, they visited the graveyards of their forefathers, close
relatives and Muslim saints overnight and distributed sweets and
homemade foods like ruti and halua among the poor, neighbours and
friends.
Many mosques especially Gaibandha Bara Mosque, Kachari Bazar Jame
Mosque, Gorosthan Jame Mosque, Fakirpara Jame Mosque and other
different religious organizations arranged milad mahfil, zikr ajkars,
and distributed tabaraks in urban and rural areas.
Special discussions were also held at Khanka Sharif Jame Mosque of the
town since the Asr prayers where a good number of imams and religious
leaders coming from different places of the country delivered speeches
narrating spiritual significance of the sacred night.
A large number of Muslims coming from far flung areas of the district
and its neighbouring areas attended the discussions.
