Housewife Selina Akter, 27, was killed by unknown miscreants at Boiragbhita in Sadar upazila on Wednesday night.
The diseased was wife of Farhad Hossain of Bhabanipur village of the upazila.Quoting family members, police said
a gang of unidentified miscreants intercepted Farhad, his wife Selina and their son Sifat, 7, at
Boiragbhita at about 9:00pm while they were returning home from Medipath Clinic in the district town.
At one stage, they tied up Farhad and stabbed him indiscriminately and slit the throat of Selina, leaving her dead
on the spot.Hearing their son’s cry for help, locals rescued Farhad and rushed him to Gazipur Sadar Hospital.
Later he was shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital as his condition deteriorated.
On information, police recovered Selina’s body at about 10:30pm.The body was sent to hospital morgue for autopsy
on Thursday morning.Rafiqul Islam, in-charge of Hotapara police camp, said previous enmity
might have been a reason behind the killing.A case was filed in this connection.
