Housing committee to strengthen security of NAM flats near Sangsad Bhaban.

House Committee yesterday recommended the lawmakers to discourage their visitors to their flats instead of entertaining them at their designated offices for the sake safety and security of NAM flats, which were allocated for the Members of Parliament (MPs).The recommendation was made at a meeting of the committee at Sangsad Bhaban with its chairman Chief Whip ASM Firoze in the chair.

The meeting was informed that both security persons deployed at NAM flats and family members living with the lawmakers are embarrassed in dealing with huge numbers of guests usually come from the constituency of the respective lawmaker.

The committee recommend the lawmakers, who were allocated offices at the MP Hostel, to entertain their visitors at their offices so that they can live at the flats in peace, said the committee chairman.

Committee member Nazmul Haque Prodhan said there is a provision for the lawmakers to allow visitors but they should meet them at their offices instead of residence.

Housing sub-committee at a meeting on November 17 also recommended strengthening security measures for NAM flats along with Sangsad Bhaban.

Abdus Shahid, Whip Mahbub Ara Begum Gini, Sagupta Yeasmin, Panchanon Biswas, Fazle Hossain Badsha, Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury and Nazmul Haque Prodhan attended the meeting.
