Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and its equivalent examinations of 2014 will begin across the country from April 3 due to the ongoing Upazila Parishad elections.
Subodh Chandra Dhali, Deputy Chief Information Officer of the Education Ministry, told journalists that the examinations were deferred by two days at a request from the Election Commission because of the upcoming Upazila Parishad elections.During the past five years, the HSC and its equivalent examinations had started on April 1.
As per the election schedules, the fifth phase of the Upazila elections to 65 local government bodies will be held on March 31.
Last month, the Education Ministry had deferred two tests in the SSC examinations by a month due to the four-phase Upazila polls.-bdnews24.com
