Dhaka-Protesting the threat on journo of Jahangirnagar University (JU),yellow journalism of 71’ TV savar correspondent and demanding for proper investigation and justice of attack on journalist Shafiq the JU correspondent of bdnews24.com, JU Journalist Association (JUJA) formed a human chain on Tuesday here at the campus.Around 3.00 pm at the main entrance (dairy gate) of JU campus adjoining Dhaka Aricha highway more than 50 journalist of different media reporter of JU participate the program. On the human chain, the speakers urged to the university authority to boycott Mithun Sarker in the campus, the Saver reporter of 71’TV and secretary of Savar Press Club.
Belal Hossain Rahat the president of JUJA said ‘We protest at the threat on journalists. We are feeling insecure for the incident. We also demand for proper security to the university authority’.
JU sources said protesting the incident of BCL attack on journalist Shafiqul Islam, JU reporter of bdnews24.com, the department of Journalism and media studies (JMS) arranged a human chain program on Thursday at central Shaheed minar premises. But electronic media 71tv broadcast it as a human chain of protesting the attack on Christian area.
On this incident, national daily Prothom-alo JU correspondent Russel Ruubbii and Daily Bangladesh Pratidin JU reporter Shariful Islam, also both students of JMS department condemned the news and post on social media against the report. But the savar reporter of 71tv also General Secretary of Savar Press club concern it and threaten the both journalist and also post on social media with mentioning Russel Rubbii as an agent of drug business.
JUJA Secretary Moudud Sujan, Dipanjon Siddanta Kajol the president of Bangladesh Student Union (BSU) of JU unit and Secretary Abid Sharkar Shohag and senior journalists’ also addressed in the program among others.-JU Correspondent
