Savar – Two students, including a woman, out of four students of Jahangirnagar University (JU) who are on a fast-unto-death for immediate withdrawal of case fell sick yesterday (Sunday) after 27 hours of fasting.The doctor on-duty, Toudid Hasan confirmed this.
The duo were identified as Sarder Zahid, a 42 nd batch student of English dept and Puja Biswas, a 40th batch student of International relations dept.
The university authorities asked the students on fast-unto- death to withdraw their strike after a syndicate meeting on Sunday afternoon, a letter issued by JU registrar said.
Earlier, on Saturday at about 2pm, Sarder Zahid began the strike for the withdrawal of case lodged against 56 students of the university for vandalizing VC’s residence. – JU Correspondent
