IBBL annual business development conference ends

A two-day annual business development conference of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited ended at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel, Dhaka on January 13, 2017. Arastoo Khan, Chairman of the bank was present at the concluding ceremony as chief guest. Md. Abdul Mabud, PPM, Chairman, Risk Management Committee, Md. Humayun Kabir, FCA, Md. Joynal Abedin, Md. Mizanur Rahman, Professor Dr. Md. Sirajul Karim, Directors, and Professor Dr. Mohammad Abdus Samad, Member Secretary, Shariah Supervisory Committee were present on the occasion as special guests. Md. Abdul Hamid Miah, Managing Director and CEO, presided over the conference while Md. Mahbub-ul-Alam, Deputy Managing Director gave welcome speech. Deputy Managing Directors, Head Office Executives, Head of Zones and Branch Managers of the Bank attended the conference.
Arastoo Khan as chief guest said, Islami Bank, as one of the country’s economic player, is working in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) as supportive partner to the Government. He said that all banks and financial institutions are now enjoying the benefits of Digital Bangladesh. He also stressed on the expansion of digital service in Islami Bank. He urged all managers to give more attention in customer services with due compliance of Shariah principles and all rules and regulations, integrity, efficiency, and fully professionalism.
Other speakers said, Islami Bank has been working to build a self-reliant Bangladesh free from hunger, poverty and economic disparity. Giving priority to the agriculture and agro-based industries, they also emphasized on SMEs, women entrepreneurs development, employment generation, growth in deposits, remittance, and the international trade. Reitering the customers’ deposits are more secured here, the speakers said, the Bank’s service will remain opened for all people irrespective religion-color, cast and creed. They, however, pointed to do better in 2017 in all parameters of the Bank.
