The International Crimes Tribunal – 2 has sentenced Jamaat Leader Moulana Abdus Sobhan to death in the verdict in the War Crimes trial against him on Wednesday.
The ICT-2 led by its chairman Justice Obaidul Hasan gave the verdict. Two other members of the tribunal are Justice Majibur Rahman Mia and Justice Shahinoor Islam.A 165-page verdict in the case was read out in presence of Moulana Abdus Sobhan’s lawyer Tajul Islam, Shahjahan Kabir, Shishir Munir, Asad Uddin and his sons Nesar Ahmed Nannu and Muzahidul.
Chief Prosecutor Golam Arif Tipu, Zead Al-Maloom, Sultan Mahmud Seemon, Turin Afroze, Mohammad Ali and Sabina Yasmeen Khan Munni were present from the prosecution side.
Earlier Moulana Abdus Sobhan was brought to the tribunal from jail at about 9 am.
