Independence-Cup Football: Mohammedan beat Uttar Baridhara 2-0

Dhaka – Dhaka Mohammedan SC tasted the first victory in their 2nd match of the KFC Independence Cup Football Tournament beating Uttar Baridhara Club by 2-0 goals in a Group A match at Bangabandhu National Stadium here on Thursday.Traditional Mohammedan SC conceded 0-2 defeat against group leader Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club in their first match.In the day’s match, Mashuk Mia Johnny put the black and whites Mohammedan ahead in the 10th minute by a powerful right footed volley, off an Aminur Rahman Sajib cross that came to Johnny’s way by a header of Baridhara defender (1-0).

In the injury time of the match, Guinean forward Ismael Bangoura scored the 2nd goal for Mohammedans by a low free kick (2-0).
Earlier, Ismael Bangoura deprived Mohammedan from a goal in the 21st minute as he failed to convert a penalty.Mohammedan got the spot kick as their forward Aminur Rahman Sajib was brought down by Baridhara defender Monir in the danger zone.Bangoura spoiled another chance in the 64th minute when he sent the ball to opponent custodian Rajib grip off a low cross of Yusuf Sifat After the match, Mohammedan SC have secured three points from two matches while Uttar Baridhara Club are yet to open the account
