Dhaka – The Independence Day Runner Open Tennis Tournament, organised by Bangladesh Tennis Federation (BTF), opened at Ramna National Tennis Complex here on Thursday.State Minister for Youth and Sports Dr Biren Sikder inaugurated the five-day meet in the afternoon.
Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports Arif Khan Joy, Secretary General of Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) Syed Shahed Reza and Chairman of the Tournament’s sponsor Runner Group Hafizur Rahman Khan were also present on the occasion.Some 280 players from 20 different clubs and organisations are taking part in the competition featuring main four events –men’s singles,men’s doubles women’s singles and women’s doubles.Besides, boys’ & girls’ singles for 14 years, boys’ & girls’ singles for U-12, U-10, and U-8 age groups were also included in the meet alongside two veteran events– senior 50 plus and senior 55 plus groups.agences
