Indian among two ‘forest robbers’ held in Sundarbans

Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard on Monday rescued three kidnapped fishermen and arrested two suspected robbers, including an Indian national, along with arms and bullets from a canal under Satkhira range in the Sundarbans.The arrestees are Golam Molla, 36, a resident of Rampal upazila in Bagerhat and Jalal Uddin, 50 of Chabbish Pargana in West Bengal.
The rescued fishermen are Bablu Gazi, Shahid Hossain and Rezaul Islam of Shyamnagar upazila.
Coast Guard Petty Officer Nazrul Islam said they conducted a drive after the relatives of the kidnapped fishermen informed them about the matter. The fishermen were kidnapped three days back, he said.
The law enforcers also recovered a firearm and two rounds of bullet from the procession of the robbers, he added, reports UNB from Satkhira.
