Int’l community with Bangladesh in fighting militancy: PM

Dhaka – Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday said it is the responsibility of the international community to find out a way to resist terrorism and militancy if the evil menace is pampered by any quarter internationally.
“If there’s any pampering of terrorism and militancy internationally, I think, the international community should take the responsibility, it’s the responsibility of the international community to find out the way to resist it,” she said.

The Prime Minister said this while talking to journalists after exchanging Eid greetings with leaders and workers of her party and people of all strata at her official residence Ganobhaban.
She said the international community is with Bangladesh in fighting terrorism and militancy. “All (international community) are taking a stance against the terrorism and militancy.”
The Prime Minister called upon the guardians and teachers of schools, colleges and universities to inform the government about the long time missing of children and students so that it can take steps to find them out.
Sheikh Hasina suggested the guardians not to sit idle after filing a general diary with local police stations about the missing of their children but inform the department concerned of the government so they could be traced using the modern technology.
Hasina said she gets hurt seriously when the most modern, smart and educated youths engage in these heinous crimes. “This is not the path of Islam…I’ll request you to come back from this heinous path.”
Reiterating her firm and clear stance not to allow any sort of terrorism and militancy on Bangladesh soil, the Prime Minister said her government must do whatever is needed to establish peace in this land.
She urged all to form anti-terrorism committees in all areas, including unions, upazilas and districts to find out the terrorists and militants. “We’re with you, we’ll extend all sorts of cooperation to you.”
Coming down heavily on human rights organisations for their failure to find out the missing people engaging in terrorist and militant acts. “If anyone goes missing these human rights organisations always point their fingers at us, they said the government agencies took them away. Now why these organisations have failed to figure out that these missing persons are engaged in terrorism and militancy,” she asked.
Issuing her note of warning to the culprits behind the misguiding the young people, the Prime Minister said, “We’ll take stern action against them.”
Talking about today’s incident at Solakia during the biggest Eid jamaat of the country where four people have died in a terrorist attack, the Prime Minister said that these people never believe in Islam. “Their place will surely be in the hell.”
“How the young people having modern education could do this type of evil deeds,” she wondered.
