Many unemployed youths have transformed themselves into successful entrepreneurs through doing a six-month residence course on web and graphic designs.
Thengamara Mohila Sabuj Sangha (TMSS), a non-government organization, in cooperation with Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) is providing the residence course to the eligible youths under Skills for Employment Investment Programme (SEIP).
As part of the programme, 25 youths were awarded certificates at a simple function on their successful completion of a six-month training on web and graphic designs at the TMSS office in the city today.
Deputy Executive Director of TMSS Md Abdul Qader, Director of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) of TMSS Nigar Sultana, member of Board of Director of TMSS ICT Limited Md Khairul Islam, among others, addressed the function.
Nigar said, “We are imparting six-month training to unemployed youths on different ICT courses to promote entrepreneurship as well as ensure their easy access to better job markets.”
“TMSS in cooperation with PKSF is implementing SEIP project in different parts of the country to create IT efficient people in the country. After receiving the training, many youths have become self-reliant,” she added.
Sadekur Rahman, who took six-month training on web and graphic design under the SEIP project, said, “Now I am dreaming to become a successful entrepreneur after completing the training course. This is really a very effective training course, which has increased my efficiency on web and graphic designs.”
“I have launched a small business venture in Dhaka city… Now I am earning Taka 30,000 per month,” he added.
Like Sadekur, many youths narrated in the function their dreams to become entrepreneurs after completing their trainings.
A source said Bangladesh Bank (BB) selected eight organizations, including TMSS, to implement the SEIP project to impart trainings to 10,200 youths.
On January 19, 2016 a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the BB and the TMSS was signed for the implementation of the SEIP project, reports BSS.
