Jamie to go forward with team’s new plans

DHAKA- Bangladesh national football team’s head coach Jamie Day said they would go forward with new plans next year after Asian Football Confederation (AFC) taking consent of FIFA postponed the joint qualifiers round-2 and Asian Cup 2023 that was scheduled for October-November this year.

“The games have been canceled. Obviously, we are disappointed with this decision but I feel it’s the right decision. The players’ health and safety come first. We have to go forward with new plans. I look forward to 2021 where we’ll have some really good games and make sure we’re ready to win these games,” Jamie said through a video message today.

Earlier, in a statement on Wednesday, the AFC postponed all the matches for the joint qualifiers to 2021 for travel restrictions due to COVID-19 situation.

Following the postponement of World Cup Qualifiers, BFF also cancelled their national team’s ongoing training camp at Sarah Resort in Gazipur.BSS
