The Embassy of Japan in Bangladesh has expressed deep concerned over the frequent observance of hartals with sporadic incidents of violence against innocent civilians.
The concern came from a statement given by the Embassy in Bangladesh on Monday.
The statement mentioned that the situation harms the country’s economic activity and tarnishes the image of Bangladesh.
It added: “The Embassy would like to draw your attention to the fact that a couple of Japanese firms’ cars were attacked by unknown activists, and deplore these heinous acts.”
If this situation continues, the development of the country will be seriously hampered, and it will be the citizens of Bangladesh who will suffer the most, it said.
Therefore, the Embassy of Japan in Bangladesh calls for all parties concerned to take necessary measures so that any form of violence will be restrained.
