Japanese entrepreneurs have expressed their interest to invest in various sectors of Bangladesh. The interest was when a DCCI trade and investment promotion delegation met the leaders of Tokyo Chamber of Commerce in Tokyo, Japan on Monday to explore bilateral trade and investment, according to a message received here today.
DCCI president M Sabur Khan, president of Tokyo Chamber of Commerce Toshio Nakamura and Commercial Counselor of Bangladesh Embassy in Tokyo Rashedul Islam were, among others, present in the meeting.
During the meeting, Sabur Khan said the long-cherished friendly relation between Bangladesh and Japan can further boost trade and investment between the two countries.
He said the DCCI has established a Help Desk on its own premises to facilitate trade and commerce for both local and foreign entrepreneurs.
The DCCI president urged the Japanese investors to invest in pharmaceuticals, renewable energy, windmill, infrastructure, agriculture, and technology sectors of Bangladesh taking advantage of the ample opportunities provided by the Bangladesh government.

The Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) has taken an initiative to promote 2,000 new entrepreneurs who will be selected from across the country.

The two-day expo will begin at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in the city on November 1, according to the DCCI officials.
With a view to seeking support from Bangladesh Bank and other banks to arrange the event, the DCCI officials held a meeting with head of SME of all Banks and NBFIs at the SME & Special Programmes Department (SMESPD), Bangladesh Bank, on Monday.
Chaired by general manager of SMESPD Sukamal Sinha Choudhury, the meeting was attended, among others, by DCCI convener MS Siddiqui, DCCI secretary (acting) Bashir Haider, joint secretary Fazlul Karim, Bangladesh Bank DGM Abul Bashar and SME heads of 19 banks and senior officials of Bangladesh Bank.
