JCD president VP placed under remand

A court of Dhaka on Tuesday placed Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) President Abdul Quader Bhuiyan Jewel and Senior Vice-President of JCD Dhaka City (North) Sharif Uddin Jewel on six days’ remand in two cases filed with Motijheel Police Station in the City. Magistrate Asaduzzaman Noor of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka passed the order on Tuesday noon, after Sub-inspectors Mizanur Rahman and Anisul Islam of the Detective Branch (DB) of Police and also the Investigation Officers (IO) of the cases produced the duo to his court seeking 20 days’ remand, 10 days in each case. The two cases were filed for cocktail explosion and throwing hand bomb at Paltan Masjider Gali in the capital.
On December 6 (Friday) in the afternoon, Magistrate Md Tareque Moinul Islam Bhuiyan granted a three-day remand of the two accused in a case filed with Paltan Police Station for cocktail explosion and obstructing police while they were discharging their duties, and that ended today (Tuesday).
On Friday at about 3.30 am JCD President Ujjal was arrested at a house of road 20, Uttara Sector 13, while Sharif Uddin was also arrested at the same time in the capital. – Court Correspondent
